Position Description
|
|
Reports operationally to the RSAF flying unit commander. Reports administratively to the contractor Chief Pilot/Flight Operations Department Manager. Performs primarily as instructor in the flight simulator. May also perform as instructor or basic C-130 pilot in the C-30 aircraft. All duties to be accomplished in accordance with RSAF regulations and directives. Performs as classroom, simulator, or flight instructor in all phases of aircrew training including initial, upgrade, and continuation training. Accomplishes or supervises the accomplishment of all pre-mission, in-flight and post mission requirements including flight planning, briefings, aircraft inspections, clearances, and aircraft ground and in-flight operations. Assists the RSAF in the development and administration of instructional programs, examinations, manuals, regulations, plans, and other pertinent materials. Analyzes and evaluates aircrew training programs and procedures. Ensures compliance with safety and flying regulations and that all required documentation is properly accomplished. Competencies
|
|
Graduation from a military under-graduate pilot training course and aircrew instructor training course are mandatory. Must possess instructor-level knowledge in the following areas: C-130 aircraft systems operation and procedures; flight planning, meteorology, instrument procedures, flight rules and regulations; pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures; C-130 tactical airland and airdrop operations or KC-130 air refueling operations. Must be familiar with training techniques, the use of audio-visual training aids and training systems. Knowledge of the operation of flight simulators is mandatory. Knowledge of curriculum development and the operation of IBM-compatible computers is desirable. *********************************************************************

Typical Education/Experience
|
|
Shall have a minimum of 3,000 hours of flying time as a pilot, 2,000 of which must be in various models of the C-130 aircraft, and 1,000 hours of experience as an instructor pilot, 300 hours of which must be in a flight simulator. Must have practical operating experience in the C-130 aircraft or simulator within two (2) years. ********************************************************************* |
