Sytronics, Inc. is pleased to announce that it is looking for someone to be a Software Engineer on the RC-135 Operational Flight Trainers at Offutt AFB, Ne. The selected candidate will be part of an Integrated Product Team sustaining and modifying two motion-based, fully instrumented flight crew trainers to stay concurrent with the operational RC-135 aircraft as required. Standard coding practices and TSSC guidelines will be followed. Work environment is in new/remodeled facilities, working in a close-knit team of professionals devoted to bringing the best in effective training to the USAF. SCOPE: The successful candidate will be a key member of a technically advanced team performing aerospace modeling and simulation, software design, development and testing. The technical tasks will include mathematical modeling of aircraft and aircraft systems; design, development and implementation of flight simulation software; modification and maintenance of existing software; software integration; and testing and verification of simulator performance. Individual will formulate conceptual design for aircraft simulation software products or systems to meet customer requirements. Analyze software project requests, proposals, and engineering data to determine feasibility, development requirements of software products. Review performance reports and documentation from instructors/users, and inspect malfunctioning or damaged software products to determine problem. Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and documents to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics, malfunctions, or deviations from design specifications and functional limitations. EDUCATION: This job requires a Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering/science field REQUIRED SKILLS: 2+ years of applicable experience to include development and/or refinement of flight simulation models; experience in design and development of software in C++ on both Window and Linux platforms; and experience maintaining, modifying and de-bugging existing C++ code in a complex software system. Knowledge of mathematical principles and concepts, physical principles and laws, and their interrelationships and applications to physical modeling. This position requires the candidate be able to pass a National Security check and obtain a Secret clearance. DESIRED SKILLS: Specific experience in design and development of real-time flight simulation software; background in Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Science; aircraft aerodynamics and 6-DOF dynamics; cockpit avionics simulation; APN-242 Radar or Blue Ridge Radar simulation. |
