Here a new member, writing from Al Ain, UAE. Just arrived here, two weeks ago, and I discovered this forum talking with a colleage.
I'm the technician for two CAE devices, based on the Airbus A330-200MRTT. Still learning a lot of things, but they are very similar with the CAE C-295 that I've been maintaining in Airbus ITC in Sevilla, Spain.
I'm finding Al Ain... hot. The air around you is hot, even the cold water of the shower is not cold. At least, I got the Paco's (a mexican restaurant with beers and spirits...)
Looking the job side, it is an easy job, just two devices, no motion, a very low rate of use, so just maintenance. But the dust is everywhere, so the vacuum is my main tool here.
And the ITC in Seville is going to be upgraded, don't now if you knew it, but three new simulators are ordered. This upgrade makes the ITC one of the most important military training facilities in Europe (and even the world), with 6xFFS, 10xIPTs, 1xPTT and 1xCHT (Cargo Hold Trainer, the same one that in Brize Norton).
