ORLANDO, FL, September 12th, 2008 -- Record-breaking numbers of Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] volunteers will renovate and rejuvenate the Central Florida Primrose Center as a part of the United Way's annual "Day of Caring" on Saturday, September 13. The volunteer team represents the largest, single-day corporate volunteer effort in Central Florida. With more than 900 registrants, Lockheed Martin employees, family members and friends will paint, repair and landscape the Primrose Center, an Orlando not-for-profit organization that supports over 400 adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis. Lockheed Martin Awarded $37 Million Contract to Provide Trainers, Simulator to U.S. Army
ORLANDO, FL, August 26th, 2008 -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will produce a Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT) Reconfigurable Vehicle Simulator and the Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer (RVTT/CCTT-RVS) for the U.S. Army, providing Soldiers with the latest skills to defeat adaptive and intelligent adversaries. The initial one-year contract valued at $37 million has three options which, if exercised, could bring the total contract value to $147 million. Lockheed Martin delivers F-16I Flight Systems Trainer to Israeli Air Force
ORLANDO, FL, July 24th, 2008 -- Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE: LMT] has delivered the Israeli Air Force (IAF) F-16I Flight and System Trainer (FST) that will be used to support a variety of training requirements for the IAF F-16I "Soufa" fighter and ground attack aircraft. Delivery of the simulator is part of a contract originally awarded in January 2006 that calls for Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support (STS) to provide emergency procedures, aircraft systems operation, and tactical and weapon systems crew training.. Lockheed Martin provides the hardware and software to simulate F-16I aircraft systems, sensors, weapons and flight dynamics. Lockheed Martin to provide UK with Second Phase of Joint Asset Management Engineering Solution Programme
LONDON, UK, July 23rd, 2008 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] will add new capabilities to the UK Ministry of Defence's Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES) logistics support programme under a recent contract amendment valued at £75 million. Designed by Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support and first deployed in July 2005, JAMES currently manages more than 60,000 pieces of equipment for the British Army giving users and commanders the ability to identify the availability, status, condition, ownership and location of a piece of equipment in moments. The newest phase of the programme, called JAMES Land, will extend the system to include ground-based equipment used by the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, in addition to the British Army additional capabilities. First Group Of Students Begin Flight Training As Part Of Singapore Basic Wings Course
ORLANDO, FL, July 14th, 2008 -- The first group of student pilots has begun flight training as a part of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Basic Wings Course (BWC). Lockheed Martin receives $23.4 Million Contract Modification to update Formal Training Unit for C-130 Aircrews
ORLANDO, FL, July 1st, 2008 -- The U.S. Air Force has awarded Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] a $23.3 million modification to the C-130 Aircrew Training System contract, which provides comprehensive academic and simulation training for C-130 weapons system aircrews. The modification will update the current Little Rock AFB Formal Training Unit (FTU) curriculum to move training events from the aircraft to aircrew training systems and enhance existing training capability. The modification provides funding for the Air Force's Reduced Flight Initial Qualification (RFIQ) program that will conserve fuel and reduce aircraft usage by requiring fewer hours of training on the flight line for pilots, navigators, flight engineers and loadmasters. Aircrews instead will accomplish more of their training on high-fidelity Weapons System Trainers (WST) simulators; the addition of several part task trainers will offset the increased demand on the WSTs. Ascent Signs Contract With MoD For New UK Military Flight Training System
London, June 2nd, 2008 -- Ascent, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and VT Group, has today signed the contract which will see it provide military flying training to the UK Armed Forces for the next 25 years. The initial contract is valued at £635 million and is projected to rise to approximately £6 billion over the life of the programme. Marine Corps Embedded Platform Logistic System on Track for July Delivery, Nine Months After Contract Award
