The Antoinette (c.1909) is believed to be the very first flight simulator. It basically taught potential aviators how to balance on a pivot, which I guess in those days was the challenge of flying !!
A replica of the Antoinette is located in the lobby of the Airbus (EADS) Training Centre in Blagnac, close to Toulouse airport.
